چکیده

Visual tracking aims to match objects of interest in consecutive video frames. This paper proposes a novel and robust algorithm to address the problem of object tracking. To this end, we investigate the fusion of state-of-the-art image segmentation hierarchies and graph matching. More specifically, (i) we represent the object to be tracked using a hierarchy of regions, each of which is described with as a graph matching problem, which is solved by minimizing an energy function incorporating appearance and geometry contexts; and (iii) more importantly, an effective graph updating mechanism is proposed to adapt to the object changes over time for ensuring the tracking robustness. Experiments are carried out on several challenging sequences and results show that our method performs well in terms of object tracking, even in the presence of variations of scale and illumination, moving camera, occlusion, and background clutter. Using Dominant Sets for Object Tracking with Freely Moving Camera

Object tracking with freely moving cameras is an open issue, since background information cannot be exploited for foreground segmentation, and plain feature tracking is not robust enough for target tracking, due to occlusions, distractors and object deformations. In order to deal with such challenging conditions a traditional approach, based on Camshift-like color-based features, is augmented b...

Learning articulated appearance models for tracking humans: A spectral graph matching approach

Tracking an unspecified number of people in real-time is one of the most challenging tasks in computer vision. In this paper, we propose an original method to achieve this goal, based on the construction of a 2D human appearance model. The general framework, which is a region-based tracking approach, is applicable to any type of object. We show how to specialize the method for taking advantage ...

Robust pedestrian detection and tracking in crowded scenes

In this paper, a robust computer vision approach to detecting and tracking pedestrians in unconstrained crowded scenes is presented. Pedestrian detection is performed via a 3D clustering process within a region-growing framework. The clustering process avoids using hard thresholds by using bio-metrically inspired constraints and a number of plan view statistics. Pedestrian tracking is achieved ...

Segmentation and Tracking Using Region Adjacency Graphs, Picture Trees and Prior Information

Tracking of video objects in pixel space using block based methods or template matching suffers from boundary alignment problems, assumes knowledge of object location, and is severely effected by rotation and shear. This paper suggests a region domain based object tracking algorithm. Using region adjacency graphs it is proposed to perform the search in region space, using relational information...
